They show a guy in his 40's with a 6 year old kid playing madden. Obviously they believe this is their core audience. EA just doesn't get it. Their supposed "core audience" are the type of people who buy the game once and that's it. These types of players don't wait around for next year's release because they bought it once, played it for 15 minutes and then put it on the shelf next to Mario Golf. They might bring it back out again sometime when Grandma comes over so that little Johnnie can show her his touchdown celebration.
Why even bother with the NFL exclusive rights? EA needs to just abandon this franchise because they are embarassing themselves.|||^Agreed, they got alot skewed with those perceptions. Sure alot of Wii owners are older or casual players, but the core audience of gamers still exist who appreciate REAL football games. Some people who weren't gamers before actually bought Wii for sports games (I know a few who bought it for golf games and ended up buying Madden). Where does this new direction lead these "new gamers"? Most will be confused.|||I am that guy
36 bought the WII for my 5 year old (who hates madden) He wont be ready to play it for years yet
Madden is not a causal game it takes an hour at least (ever try to get a 5 year old to sit for an hour)
I got Madden 09 Wii because I play games on my PC only
Ea its the DADS that want to play Madden not the little kids
the Dads understand football but do not have the money/time to buy/play another system
|||All of yall who don't like the direction EA is going with the wii, just get a ps3 or 360. You'll never get as good of a football game on wii. just do what I did, and trade yours in and save up for a 360 or ps3. if you can spend 250 on a wii, you can get 50-100 more dollars and get a 360 depending on which version u want.|||EQUation21 I dont want a 360 or PS3 I have a WII and want a good game for IT
I am not buying another console just for myself
there is no reason that all the platform versions can not be the same game|||I have both Wii and Xbox 360. Despite this sort of crap, I prefer Wii significantly. In fact, the only game I play on Xbox 360 now is Left 4 Dead.|||

Equation 21, how old are u? Does your mom and dad still claim you as a dependent on their taxes and pay for your toilet paper so you can wipe your a$$?
Most of us who play Madden on the Wii, have kids/jobs/real lives and the reason we don't 'save up' for a 360 or ps3 is because it's not worth spending the money just so we can play 1 game. We have Wii's for our kids, but this is the one game we actually buy for ourselves. I've played some version of Madden since 1990. Were you even born in 1990? Trust me, I can afford to buy a 360 or a PS3, but like I said, this is the only game I would buy/play on it so it's simply not worth it.
The reason for our frustration, is that all we asked for was a solid madden game with good gameplay. Basically Madden 09 but without the bugs/glitches. Instead, EA insists on targeting an age group/audience that barely plays this game and ignoring the fact that most of the people who buy/play this game on Wii fit the description above.|||
I've played some version of Madden since 1990.
IMHO, those were the glory days of Madden Football. With each new release there were real improvements to the game (not to mention that the historical rosters actually used the real players' names).
What changed that this franchise becamse so stagnant? Is it that much harder to release somethng good or has EA just become complacant since they have no competition on the Wii?|||

Lol, we want us to buy a new console for a football game?? Yeah right. I'd rather play Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Conduit.|||^Exactly! I hate when people suggest another console, some of us can't afford 2 of the "big 3" just yet. I like my Wii, I liked the Madden series, I don't like them taking this direction. I don't see why they are throwing themselves into a group that has more competition. What I mean is look at all the kiddy sports games out there already. Backyard football, Kid Sportz football etc, what SERIOUS football game is out there? Madden has it, or at least HAD it, I hope another company steps up and takes over and this series TANKS.
