there is a rule against running up the score in the league. your own moral compass and respect for your competitor should tell you this. example: if you are winning by a lot you do not use timeouts late in the game so you can score again when you have the game locked up easily.....

i have a wiining record vs hobbs in m10 and we have a few great players already - we do no need a mouthy rule breaking player with no respect for his opponents. enjoy random players you wil enjoy that more anyway, good luck to you.
I am not mad but i will not allow people to post misleading info about our league. people get banned all the time for breaking rules - you are not special in that regard and your record had nothing to do with it

So, you AGREED to these rules.
Now, lets look at them shall we?
Valid E-Mail Address - Starting with Season 4 - at the beginning of each season, when you sign up, I will require each of you to send me an email from the email account you listed in your profile. We depend on private messages and emails to communicate with each other, so we must have a valid email address from you. My email address is bdhobbs1@yahoo.com.
INITIATION GAMES - ALL NEW members must play (10) initiation games, once completed you will have the opportunity to join the league. Why do you need to play initiation games? Because we have had a few that would play 2 initiation games, and 3 or 4 league games and then quit. I also need to know your skill level, your willingness to set up and actually play the game and I need to know if you play the game by the rules posted here.
League Games - I will post each game in the forums. You need to schedule the game with your opponent in that post, so that I can see what efforts you are making to get the game played. It would also be a good idea to post when you have sent a PM to your opponent. Report only the score, stats are optional.
Draft League - beginning with Season 3, all members must have a minimum of (10) games played to be eligible to join.
Tournament Games - Tournaments are run by various members of the league. There is link at the top called Tourneys for jjackson's website. You must be a member here before you are allowed to join his tournaments. You also must be a registered member on his tournament website and follow the HMFL rules and any rules he sets. jjackson will post each game in the forums. You need to schedule the game with your opponent in that post, so that he can see what efforts you are making to get the game played. You must post if you have sent a PM to your opponent. Each round usually has a deadline of 2 calendar days. He reserves the right to remove you or give automatic wins for anyone failing to play their games within the designated time frame.
Posting - When posting in your game thread, please make it a good post, for example, give a range of times that you can play, don’t just post anytime after 3pm, you know there is an end time that you can’t play later than, so why don’t you just put it and you know dinner time or errands might effect that time. And don’t post I am online now can you play?. Or see you at 8pm central, don’t post a time like that unless you both have agreed to play at that time. Please be sure to put what time zone you are posting about as well.
Pause menu - Please allow your opponent to pause the game at ANY point of the game. You never know if your opponent needs to go to the bathroom, rush outside to move the car in a hail storm, help the mom, dad or wife with something real quick, answer an important phone call, their house is getting robbed, etc. Never allow the pause timer to go to zero. NO PAUSING DURING AN ACTUAL PLAY!
Play Clock - Please do not allow the play clock to run down, unless you are in the final 3 minutes of the game. Once you have called the play and lined up at the line of scrimmage, quickly make your adjustments (if any) and snap the ball. I don't see any need for the play clock to go below 15 seconds, unless it's the first play after a kick or punt return.
Friendly Quits - Please only ask for a Friendly Quit if you feel that your opponent is not abiding by the pause menu rules and/or play clock rules; this applies to any League or Tournament game. This will signal your opponent that something is wrong and he needs to correct his actions.
Concede and Mercy – not allowed, please finish your games and never ask for Concede or Mercy. If you don’t have time to finish a game, don’t start it. I also don’t want to hear I didn’t know dinner was going to be ready in 15 minutes either, you should find out before you start. That includes your parents or wife bringing home take-out food, call them before you start to make sure you have an hour to spare.
Disconnects – If you get disconnected, you can replay the portion of the game that was needed to be played. For example, if it’s the 3rd quarter with 3 minutes left, that means 8 minutes left in the game. You would set up an unranked game with 4 minute quarters and play a half with fair play turned off. When replaying this be sure to choose Advanced and not All Play, the default on unranked games is All Play. Combine the scores to get the final score.
After your game - Please wait for the stat menu to appear, don't shut off your Wii before you see that screen. Apparently, there is some sort of glitch if you shut if off too soon after your game is over.
Unable to Connect - If you are unable to connect with your opponent, both players need to reset their routers by unplugging them for 60 seconds. Turn off the Wii, unplug the router, wait 1 minute, plug the router back in and wait for it to completely load back up, then turn on your Wii again. If you still are having problems, check the PLAYING BEHIND A FIREWALL OR ROUTER thread that is stickied at the top in League Messages.
Batteries – Always take the time to check your battery level before the start of your game. I always check mine on the Wii menu. Don’t get caught with a battery disconnect.
Goal Line Etiquette - Please do not stop at the goal line, do not run along the goal line and waste any time, do not run zig zags on the way in and do not stop and wait for defenders to catch up to you. Please do not dive into the end zone, that is rude and considered showboating.
Punt Blocking - Not Allowed effective Season 4 - the game doesn't allow you to audible to protect your punter and it's not fair for your opponent to have to burn a timeout to change his punt protection.
Off Screen – Screen Passes – Are not allowed, these are done by taking your QB and running back and to the side and throwing a screen pass clear on the other side of the field that is off camera or barely on camera.
Off Screen Passes - NOT ALLOWED effective Season 4.
Controlling the pass receiver - taking the pass receiver and running out of bounds and back in bounds to make the catch is NOT ALLOWED effective Season 4. Fluke plays caused by the CPU are out of anyone's control and those plays are allowed.
QB Scrambling – it’s allowed, but please be realistic about them, dropping back 20 yards or more is not realistic and you are not allowed to do this.
No Huddles - They are allowed but please do not do CYS (call your shot) while doing them.
CYS - Call Your Shots - Please do not perform a no huddle and then do a CYS (call your shot), if you do a no huddle you cannot CYS on the next play. Please do not use CYS in more than 33% of your plays. If you do call your shots, it locks your opponent from making defensive adjustments, please allow 5 seconds after you have completed CYS before you snap the ball. BANNED EFFECTIVE SEASON 4 unless EA fixes the glitch.
Kickoffs - They can be high, but not real short, preferably to your opponents 20 yard line. Do not kick it real high and real short, some guys move front line or 2nd line defenders to help block on returns, kicking high and too short can cause problems. No controlling a player and running him out of bounds to avoid the front of the line blockers for the receiving team. It's a penalty in the NFL and you shouldn't do it here either.
Vacancies or OPEN Teams – I determine who gets the vacant or OPEN teams. Effective Season 2, the seasons are based on seeding of players, therefore if a team or spot becomes OPEN, I will want to fill that vacancy with a player with equal or lesser skill level.
Activeness – Please stay active, please make an effort to go beyond just logging in to the website. Everyone wants to get their games played and they want to know when you can play. If you will be gone for more than 4 days please post in the Out Of Pocket thread located in League Messages at the top section where the sticky threads are located. A long absence without letting me know something can result in you being REMOVED FROM THE LEAGUE.
Chatbox - If you see your opponent in the chatbox, please log in and let him know when you can play or at least let him know something. No profanity, no flaming and no x-rated pictures are allowed in the chatbox, an immediate BAN can result from this violation.
All Games are RANKED games, please create a new EA persona if you are concerned about your online record. You may play UNRANKED if you both agree before the start of the game or if you have a history of disconnects with a certain opponent and you feel that connection issues might occur.
After each season we will start a new season and you can have the option of selecting a different team.
MERCY RULE --- There is NO RUNNING UP THE SCORE in this league, this is only for the FINAL 2 MINUTES OF THE GAME. I am not going to specify the different scenarios that constitute this act. Only you know when you feel that your lead is big enough to keep your opponent from getting angry. PASSING IS HIGHLY DISCOURAGED if you have a big enough lead. If you score on a running play or kick a field goal then it's okay. Taking a knee is okay and not against the rules. If you break this MERCY rule, you will possibly forfeit the game, 2nd offense you could be GONE.
No profanity, no flaming and no x-rated pictures allowed in any part of the website, this goes for both posts and threads that you make as well as the chatbox. It is against "forumotion" website terms of agreement that I accepted when I created this league...any comment(s) related to profanity or flaming will be deleted and a warning issued to the offender(s). Violating these rules will result in a permanent BAN.
I may not have covered everything, but please use your judgement, if you think it might be wrong, then don’t do it. Ask first.

i dont break the rules, thats why i dont get banned. and i am a member of commishes league too and have not been banned there yet either.
