Hi fellas, I am the only onw who thinks that running screens and short pass plays on the wii version on Madden 08 are a nightmare? Or am I doing something incorrect whilst trying to run these plays?
I often like to use the fake Hut button eapecially during online games to counter blitzing opponants but I find that IF I've got a screen play or short pass play set up when I then snap the ball my QB always throws the damn thing right away. Often resulting in huge losses/fumbles on screen plays ot INTS on short passing plays. Tell me...is this a glitch in the game?? If so EA should release a patch for the Wii version of Madden a.s.a.p. I find I have to really concentrate when snapping the ball on these types of plays too jus by giving the wii remote a real small upward movement! Any help or advice appreciated in advance guys regarding screens/short pass plays.
Bud.
P.S. Again this is probably easy but how do I set up a avatar on these pages?? I can't see a link anywhere. Thx.

i don't have issues with screens or quick passes just need to let the blockers setup and use quick passes on the right defensive formations.|||I was having this problem as well. I will try the advice and report back.
Thanks for the advice.|||The whole snap and immediate throw deal is a glitch, but I usually have other problems with screens. If I want to just dump it off immediately I can never throw a moderate pass, it is always a lob and the defense always has time to get to my player, making the play ineffective.|||i actually had the same issue where instead of throwing a quick pass to the flat or a quick out the ball gets lobbed to the receiver. after practicing i found out that my motion of the wiimote wasn't working. i flicked it with my wrist for a quick pass and i guess the sensor read it as a lob because my motion was too quick.
what works for me is what i mentioned earlier remote vertical towards your body after the snap then follow through on the pass. the game seems to respond better to wider motions compared to the flick of the wrist motions.|||When you can tell your opponent, by sending your player(s) in motion, is playing zone with the CB and not bringing blitz pressure on the edge I use can do screen plays for over 10yd successfully consistently. If the above situation does present itself, when you have selected a screen play, run your QB to the opposite side of the screen to attract opposing LB's then throw a bullet to your receiver, who should then only see one defensive player in front of him. Usually, your blockers should pick up this DB, if you wait for the block; otherwise, you will gain a minimum of 5yds in my experience.
This tip is for the All-Madden level but should work jut as well on lower levels and maybe even better.
