How do guys maintain those long winning streaks?

I don't see how it is possible to have a winning streak of 20 or more games in online Madden. How can you go so many games without BS losses from disconnects? I've been getting those on a regular basis lately. Yesterday, I lost a game before I even got out of the team selection screen! Prior to that, I was playing one of the top players, and had just made a big play to get into field goal range to take the lead before halftime, then BOOM---disconnect. LOSS. Seemed kind of fishy to me.
I've also had a couple of instances lately where I beat a guy (the guy quit in the 4th qtr), and don't get credit for the win. Now I know that sometimes it may take a while for the win to register on my record and all that, but I kept track, and these were wins that NEVER recorded. There was one guy in particular who was ranked just ahead of me, so I knew his win/loss record and the fact that he had a 3 game win streak. He quit our game in the 4th qtr. I finished out against the CPU and won. I never got credit for the win, and that guy never got charged for a loss! I made a point to check that guy's record the next day, and the day after that, and it remained the same. BS. Another guy quit AFTER the game was over (in the screen where you can check your stats, or choose "End Game"). I got the "your opponent has disconnected" message there. I chose to continue against the CPU, then chose End Game. And nope---no win for me. And again, I kept track, and it was never recorded.
So it seems to me that for the most part those top players with the great win/loss records and huge winning streaks are probably just better at manipulating the game and avoiding sure losses then they are at playing the game itself.|||yes. yes. yes. it appears this will be the demise of ea madden online. when all the best players are the ones w/a modem that can dictate the outcome is when i no longer play. it's getting to that point. that same thing happened to me yesterday. the losses mount. see my post of players w/'good modems'. i guess we just have to start keeping track. better track. thanks kevinga...|||Honestly getting a long 20-30+ game winning streak requires 2 things. Lots of skill and good timing when you play. So that your internet connection is stable and you wont d/c. And also a certain type of modem if you are one of those players who suspiciously drops out when you go down by 2-3 TD's or in the last second of a close game you lose connection and don't get a loss *cough*Amahn*cough*. Longest winning streak I've had this year was 38 but that got ended because I lost connection during a game that I was well on my way to winning.|||I also track my games and results, I've managed only to get to 8 straight wins.
Last night I had a guy disconnect right after the clock hit zero, after his end zone TD attempt to win the game fell incomplete as time ran out. I never got the WIN! And this is not the first time either! There are certain modems that can manipulate the EA servers and not count a loss if you unplug it, however, mine is not that brand.
Also, when your screen freezes and the options appear, it doesn't always mean that the other guy disconnected. I've played a particular friend of mine and twice while we were chatting on instant messenger we both got the options to continue vs cpu, not count the game or count the game and quit. I've been cheated out of the win this way so many times, not realizing both players got the option and my opponent that I was beating chose to not count the game.
Additionally, any quit during the first quarter won't count, even if you continue vs cpu and win, you might as well choose not to count the game.
Low batteries also cause disconnects on your end, you should always check to make sure you have all 4 bars filled, it took a while for me to realize that when you have 2 bars on your battery level that you could be dropped at any time, now I know better.
If you get the network error at the team selection screen, you need to immediately turn off the Wii and not press A, most of the time it won't count the loss, but sometimes it does, either way your ranking points stay the same, but your disconnects number goes up by one. I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me.
All these problems continue each day for me, my disconnects number keeps climbing, at 65 now, that makes me angry because I don't quit unless you do things to tick me off that are not realistic to the game or unsportsmanlike.
For example, showboating when you are about to score a TD, like running across the field along the end zone line before going in for a score, running up the score in the final minute or two of the game when you know you are going to win anyways, non-stop blitzing (might be fun for you, but it sucks for me, who cares if I am owned, I don't have to put up with it), more than 3 user catch zig zags (gets annoying after a while, especially if I can't defend it), various things like that make me angry and I turn off the Wii.
Please EA, fix these problems, create a separate area to log into so that unplugging modems, taking batteries out, low battery level, taking the game disc out and unplugging the nunchuck won't effect the connection issues.
Also, add a 4th choice on the options screen, that gives you a chance to reconnect with your opponent, just in case both players get the option screen.|||Getting a long win streak is pretty much what Mix said, be a really good player and be lucky enough to not get disconnected, or come across an opponent that glitches you, etc. I'm on a 10 game win streak now, though it should be 14 but i had a few grant mercys not count towards my record. I've pretty much decided to play games out and not grant mercy anymore for that reason.|||Felixida Cat i wonder why mix hasnt played any games do u know why? |||bdhobbs1, you da man!

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN. But then again what should we expect from pimple poppers?|||

Ah yes...the classic turn off your modem until the 3 options show up THEN turn on your modem, select don't count game, and then find someone else to play. That's one's a classic...|||

Aren't you one of those Giants players? I remembered you beat me...Boss is unstoppable, he's almost 7 feet tall...Good game, I want a rematch soon.
